Proud of how this turned out
@YukiDeer See? I told you the community knows what to pick when it comes to hosting website (for free).
@Foxarc Well, it isn't ideal, but it is good for the start, thank you <3
@YukiDeer Impossible. What could a deer need more than hosting? Please enlighten me.

@Foxarc Well, as the initiative for refugees go, we have way more plans for the infrastructure, from automated systems to ensure that services are provided to refugees as fast as possible and monitoring systems that would make refugees informed of their requests anytime they want, to complicated internal infrastructure that would ensure safety of handling and processing of documents.

We notice that no other nonprofit puts out the same goals as we do, so we decided to do that.

So far we have a portal, web app, internal communication, DevOps pipeline that would allow to monitor and plan projects efficiently and finally a full on fund that would help victims of cultural imperialism to help produce and publish their art.

@YukiDeer

from automated systems

You want to make email notifications to refugees?

monitoring systems that would make refugees informed of their requests anytime

Can't you already do that in Vercel?

processing of documents.

Programming issues (as above). Vercel is used by corporations so their security is the best, you wouldn't have to worry about handling sensitive documents as long you know what you are doing within the pipelines.

@Foxarc

Well, automated system is so far alike Jira in implementation, to allow for more streamlined process. Email notifications is something that nonprofits already do, however not as much have a symbiose between monitoring and notification to the point where they can know exactly where is their request, how long it has been since the last update and other important information.

The main issue I have with Vercel is that as far as I know they aren't GDPR-compliant, however once we know that we are fully legally okay to use Vercel in EU jurisdiction, we might just settle for them

@YukiDeer

Jira

I see. So you need a helpdesk webapp.
You have a lot of choice then, it's on you to find the best helpdesk webapp that fits your need. Or else, you can still make your own but it's going to be time consuming so...

You can already have a glimpse of your choice by looking over https://github.com/topics/ticketing-system

they aren't GDPR-compliant,

Not true per https://vercel.com/docs/security

Vercel supports GDPR compliance, which means that we commit to the following: ...

Build software better, together

GitHub is where people build software. More than 150 million people use GitHub to discover, fork, and contribute to over 420 million projects.

GitHub
@Foxarc Ok, good, thank you for the info, really helpful. Then we would most likely carry on with using Vercel
