You can now support Mapstodon.space on #Liberapay in addition to Patreon: https://liberapay.com/mapper/ 🎉

Liberapay is a non-profit, open-source based recurring donation platform. Unfa

Let's see how the experiment goes, and if we'll end up removing the Patreon page in the upcoming months - or not :) In the meantime, Here are a few numbers about our instance since its launch ⬇️

@jeremy Thanks for giving numbers and all the quality work you do for this instance.
Even though I prefer to support with shares rather than money, I have opted for an annual subscription via Liberapay.
@jeremy By the way, I think that the instance management is personified can lead to long-term issues. Nothing personal here, you know that, it's all about the principle.
Wouldn't it be conceivable to have a college of identified people with why not a rotation? Something like a 2-year term of office. No need to formalize a structure, but something collegial with a private Matrix channel to discuss delicate moderation or administrative decisions. It's also a way of preserving you.
@jeremy to finish, kudos to @Liberapay for the great open source and free of fees service! Impressive!

@geojulien Thanks for opening the conversation Julien, addressing this issue was the next thing on the todolist!

I share your concerns about the need for a more collective mode of organization. I see 2 reasons:

- Increasing the bus factor would make the project more resilient and secure, as you stated it.

- I kind of miss a collective emulation regarding how we could enhance Mapstodon! I already have various ideas but not the energy to deploy them all by myself.
