We're now running Mastodon v4.5.7 on htps://mapstodon.space (changelog: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/releases/tag/v4.5.7).
Aaaaand we're back!
The migration took longer than expected due to configuration issues with media storage. thanks to the great help of Hugo @mastohost, we've fixed it and everything seems to be running fine now.
Expect missing federated media in the next day or so. We'll also have to wait for a few hours before getting full access to the full-text search functionality. Apart from that, all lights are green!
Say hello to Mapstodon.Space, reloaded!
Mapstodon.Space is experiencing issues seemingly due to an ongoing DNS DDoS attack on our domain name provider, Alwaysdata. See https://status.alwaysdata.com/operation/487/detail/ for more information. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Service announcement:
Mapstodon.Space database will be under maintenance Thursday May 22st at 11 am UTC (=1 pm UTC+2/Paris, 7 am EDT/New York, 4 am PDT/San Francisco, 9 pm AEST/Sydney).
There will be a 2 hours downtime to migrate the database to a new server that should increase performance.
Sorry for the inconvenience, and best of luck to @mastohost for the operation :)

@geojulien Thanks for opening the conversation Julien, addressing this issue was the next thing on the todolist!
I share your concerns about the need for a more collective mode of organization. I see 2 reasons:
- Increasing the bus factor would make the project more resilient and secure, as you stated it.
- I kind of miss a collective emulation regarding how we could enhance Mapstodon! I already have various ideas but not the energy to deploy them all by myself.
