When America was founded, the founders argued that parties wouldn't form, at least for a while.

Yet they formed right away. Why?

Hint: Representative democracy requires 3 things:
1. A hiring process
2. A way to make the decision at the end of the hiring process
3. A way to manage those hired.

All we have is #2, our antiquated plurality voting system.

The candidates have their own phase 1, which is very expensive so money has power.
