PeopleCount.org is a project to address the root cause of America's political problems, which involves what was missing from America's design.

Free and fair elections were never enough to make politicians accountable to voters. Today, with the web (and a little support), we can have the communication necessary for real accountability.

Being accountable to voters means not being accountable to the wealthy or the parties. It even makes this possible.

What do you mean "no solution"?
Sure, it's not built yet, but the problem is solvable.

Placing blame doesn't help. If it's not your job to fix politics, it's not anyone's job.
The opportunity is to pitch in and make it happen.
Take responsibility. Be a patriot. Love sometimes means making things happen.

When America was founded, the founders argued that parties wouldn't form, at least for a while.

Yet they formed right away. Why?

Hint: Representative democracy requires 3 things:
1. A hiring process
2. A way to make the decision at the end of the hiring process
3. A way to manage those hired.

All we have is #2, our antiquated plurality voting system.

The candidates have their own phase 1, which is very expensive so money has power.

There's nothing for 3. Yet,

Re: Yesterday's Supreme Court immunity decision, one justice said:

“The majority (of justices) holds that the President ..is.. free to engage in criminal acts in furtherance of his official duties.”

When running the federal gov't, he’ll be able to fire workers, suspend rights, impose martial law, confiscate property, halt further elections, jail political opponents, close unfriendly media, and change laws without Congress’ consent, with no criminal liability.

The problem is that parties are unelected groups that focus power, so attract corruption. The Dems are different, but the same. What we need is a way for the 2/3 of voters who are pro-choice to have power. And the different 2/3 of voters who are pro-immigration reform to have power. And the 2/3 of voters who are against gerrymandering. And the 2/3 who want to tax the rich. Luckily, the solution has been designed: PeopleCount.org/hi.htm #LetsMakePeopleCount

3rd part: To have representatives work for us, we need a good hiring process and a managing process. We have neither. All we have is voting, using a poor method, at the end of the random, expensive, candidate-controlled hiring process. It's no wonder the politics in the US sucks, and that it has worked poorly since the beginning. Disinformation and manipulation aren't new, they're just super-powered with the web.

Should Trump win, we all have a lot to lose. Between gerrymandering, voter disenfranchisement, and the court supporting disenfranchisement and executive immunity, we've lost a lot already.
The problem is political parties. The Constitution was never designed to withstand them. The founders thought they wouldn't form soon, certainly not take over, but they did. And no one ever tried to figure out why.
No room here. See PeopleCount.org/hi.htm

Being scared isn't a solution.
Why not offer one?
Biden promised to unite the country, but had no plan.
Why not back one?

You're a great complainer.
Why not back a solution?
