Oldsmobile mood for today..
Okay, let's see how much work it takes on this old abandoned, forgotten beauty to run, drive and come back on the roads again.
🥰👍🔧🛠️

@MartinaNeumayer Nice one! Looks pretty solid. There's 303 CI/5L v8 so called "Rocket" engine under the hood? The 1952 was an very good year for the GM with those cars.
@MartinBe Surprisingly it is very solid, indeed, as for a rig from 52. No rost holes, no rotten body, nor frame. Just some patina, lots of dirt, leafs, spider nests. The car was left outside many years.
Yes it is an factory original v8 inside. Seems that we have completeage here, together with the paper work. The only still remaining question is if the entire rotate or is somehow stuck? We'll see. 😉🤞
Btw.. Come on down here and take a coffee with you for me please 💋
@MartinaNeumayer So.. we have to get ready to try to crank it today. But all that after the morning coffee ☕ ☀ 😘
@MartinBe Yeap, that's the plan for today. Both, coffee and to crank this engine. 😁
@MartinaNeumayer Bringing back Oldsmobile to life 😀👍, but somehow is nice to restore too.
@jEbb_ It will be driving, that's not a problem. But I won't be restoring it to the factory state. For that I don't have resources, time and especially money. Cleaning up the interior, outside a bit, mechanical repairs and so on, to preserve the whole car as it is and to have a nice, safely driving "going to town" rig.

@MartinaNeumayer yeah, I agreed with u. Restoration is a long term commitment. It is a very expensive undertaking too.

As long as the car can be driven, is just great rather than abandoned and left to rot or sold as scrap metal. But a little bit touch up/ make up @ repainting could be do.

hahaha 😄, btw love to drop by & have coffee with u there & have a chit chat. maybe next time yaa 🤗😊

Have a nice teatime

@jEbb_ Yes that's why I am doing this. We both with my hub actually. To safe them form the crusher or being a parts car. It doesn't matter how it looks, how old is, where it comes from. All that matters is that it is back again on the road and can bring someone joy, fun and happiness by driving. Not yet another unfinished project, but an using rig. That is the clou of doing all this especially without the bag of money. They are easy, simple to wrench on cars.
Coffee is done, now back to shop. ☕
@jEbb_ @MartinaNeumayer Well.. Two additional pair of hands in the shop will be nice to have. She won't have anything against it I think. Me neither. Pretty cool view on the picture, by the way. Where is this place?
Hi @MartinBe
yup, this place call Gold Hill, Shaftesbury, England.
u can check this link for ur perusal.

The view from the top of Gold Hill, a steep cobbled street bordered by quaint cottages and by the walls of ruined medieval abbey, against a ...

@jEbb_ Nice. Seems like a fine blog to read some decent things. I'll put it into my favorite links. This village looks somehow like our one where we are living now. Also small houses everywhere, lots of green or wooden places and wholesome peaceful atmosphere. Thank you very much! 👍
@MartinBe yeah, this place look beautiful in picture. Hopefully can go there someday 😄.
you are most welcome 👍🤝
@jEbb_ I thought you already been there. British Insels are beautiful. We traveled trough Wales, Scotland and Ireland few times in the past. Now after we moved here, there's sadly not much free time to continue our traveling vacations and so it will be for some time period yet. Not mentioning about the costs. You know how it is overall after that stupid pandemic thing. We got very lucky that we managed to get our moving right before this happened. Now it wasn't be possible very long.
@MartinBe yup, I haven't been there.
traveling abroad does require a lot of costs, but I was lucky enough to visit Brazil last year (business trip actually 🤭).
btw, u could plan again to travel other places if u want to.
@jEbb_ Brasil is an amazing country especially if someone knows the language. Yes, some plans for sure can be made, but with the realisation of them that's a bit different thing, as for now. We are proud farm owners actually. That means we are dropping almost every single penny into it. Such an amount of land needs that, together with the pretty good amount of work. If we like it or not 😉
