An enjoyable #kdrama until episode 12. Then it gets a bit boring. I was expecting some major plot twist at the end but nothing too unexpected happened.

It's slow paced. The hagwon world is portrayed quite accurately and the teachers struggle for power (gaining students, schools, exam questions) makes it interesting.

As for the romance, it does not suit me. The couple dynamics shifts in a way that I don't appreciate much.

Thanks! Glad I didn't pick this up while it was #CurrentlyAiring, although I may have enjoyed it. A romance between a teacher and a student sounds predatory to me.
@EllenInEdmonton @s1m0n4 SO pleased I saw this post! I had it on my PTW, but teacher-student is an automatic hard pass for me. Japan is OBSESSED with the trope and gets much, much ickier than this one sounds, but it's still going in my "not interested" pile.

@ronsboy67 @EllenInEdmonton The age difference is not a problem for me. They start the relationship 3 years after he graduates from university, so he was almost in his 30s if you add military service.

On the other hand I found upsetting that she easily gave up her mindset and her reputation to stay with him. She taught him how to be a teacher and yet he thinks he knows best than her. The FL became a push-over and the ML stayed selfish.

@s1m0n4 @EllenInEdmonton Yeah, it's not the age difference that's a problem for me. That's why I said I'm OK with EX-teacher and EX-student. If both are fully adult when they get together for the first time, that's fine.

OTOH, your last sentence was an absolute dealbreaker. HATE that, and am now very, very happy to pass
