@aaaaaa_ After hearing your story about HUD at depth, I thought, “A serious cyberpunk shooter (or action game) with lots of skills? It should be interesting.” And then I remembered this game. I quite enjoyed the multiplayer of this game.

Players mostly utilize the cloaking capabilities of their powered suits. So when I played this, I felt like fighting in a ghost town. Enemies appear out of nowhere from thin air. Creepy and weird, but special at the same time.
" I saw a topic where xbox PvP idea was met with dismay."
LOL finally.
I have been waiting for a story like this for a very long time. The mainstream must one day die and another mainstream will take its place. For people like me, the shorter the cycle, the better.
@hyaniner Crysis2 is an interesting case. It was kinda first bringing in that MPEG compression artifact thing in its trailer. Also it's old school deferred ^^

that compression artifact thing is quite interesting, I'll consider it pseudo-grit. The trailer soundtrack however is quite gritty. Not finished the game anyhow. Overall it failed to live up to the trailer.
OH! & saw the concept art for what they wanted to be aliens originally. It was supposed to be more involved.
@hyaniner again thanks for reminding me- just like HUD stuff last time, this gave me an RPG idea, may be more far reaching than usual bc. it's a world/setting ^^
I'd also like to remind you about RAGE, how it had game within game, a card game! Maybe it can be regarded as some kind of "trophy fight" that's permitted in other style of games (like PvE).
@aaaaaa_ Can I understand “grit” as awesome and noticeable, and “pseudo-grit” as something done with effort but pursues efficiency rather than perfection? Yes. Crysis2 was a very interesting case, but it was a slightly disappointing game. I'm glad I found it helpful.
Rage was a game I had great expectations for, but the story at the beginning was not good so I quickly stopped playing. It's a sad case for me.
@hyaniner haha, check out this expression: "UFC Fight Night Betting Guide: Our Best Bets for Saturday, ...

"outgrit" 🤣
presently gaming industry has trouble outgritting ewok-s (fierce little fighting machines from Endor) 🤭
@aaaaaa_ It seems like another interesting sample for the word grit :D I woke up now. (PM 10:11.. not good ah...) I'll take a closer look at that in a moment.
The link seems not complete. Maybe this is the full link. Right?
card minigame ( would be great way to prerender 3D because it's good part on rails) not only I like RAGE start area I even dreamt with it 😆 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4e3RrlRX_w
@aaaaaa_ Wow. This article is rich. And I love the Markov chain.
I acquired the knowledge like those throughout my 20s and 30s. Sometimes I found and learned from some resources. In some other cases, I was building and using some similar tools myself, I found out that other people had already created more sophisticated ones. This experience was a real joy to me. When I read something like that, it reminds me of those times, makes me smile, and at the same time makes me think:
@aaaaaa_ It would have been better if I had known those things when I was a teenager! During my teenage years, I had a very, very strong desire for such things, but it was difficult to find the right resources at the time.
Magic: the Gathering is a very beautiful game. I enjoyed reading the rules and cards of it. But I never owned the deck of that game, because it was some blackhole that eating money. And when I was young, I was not rich. Many trading card games are like that.
