One of the strangest images I have encountered was from a set from #Easdale island.
It was of a Ford Poplar, which had been found in one of the island's many slate pits (all flooded now).
What makes this so strange is - the island has no roads, and when I went there, the only way was by ferry, and that was a hand-rowed boat.

OK, sensible hat on here - it wasn't always like that. Easdale was a profitable commercial venture up until the time when roofing tiles replaced slate, so - it's poss.

All I can think of was it was a poorly conceived symbol of status by the boss. OK, he had a car on the island. He couldn't drive it very far, but no doubt he did. And when the businesses fell apart, it got tossed in the pit (because it would have cost to much to take it back to the mainland, for scrap)
