They favor chaos, for they think they are the solution to chaos when, of course, they are only an agent of it. The Times shares Murdoch's worldview not in ideology but in the ultimate business model: sensationalism of its own sort.
Mirishuli@jeffjarvis I think I disagree Jeff. I’m not a journalist and rarely interact with professional journalists. But people like Peter Baker know what they are doing. They have family connections to those killed by the 1940 Nazis, and yet promote the current fascists at every turn. They and the NYT itself promote fascism at every turn. They are doing exactly what they want, to get exactly what they want. They like the side effect of chaos, but what they want is to end democracy.

Christian Schwägerl@jeffjarvis You increasingly sound like a MAGA conspiracy guy. NYT asks for a candidate who is able to defeat Trump effectively and withstand another Jan6-style assault. That's a perfectly plausible position and has nothing to do with sowing chaos or enabling Trump. That's what Dem strategists have been doing by hiding and supporting an ailing president who has literally zero chance to win since the debate. It's a mess of their own making, don't blame the messengers.
