@potus As long as people drive trucks for light errands & commuting, gas is too cheap.

As long as lines of idling cars form outside coffee shop & fast food drive-throughs, gas is too cheap.

As long as people speed, gas is too cheap.

As long as people say “I like my gas car; I’ll never buy an EV or use transit,” gas is too cheap.

As long as atmospheric carbon dioxide is rising, gas is too cheap. Way too cheap.

Actually, the cheaper we can get a barrel of oil down to the more we can #KeepItInTheGround since the producers won't be able to afford to pump it out.

@potus @GreenFire Ok, let’s make it expensive as hell to burn, to remove the financial imperative to use it. Which will make it cheap and thus remove the financial imperative to extract it. Two sides of a coin.

Me too. Unfortunately, environmentally oriented citizens tend to vote less than other demographics. But here’s a way we can help!

A group called Environmental Voter Project has identified enviros in key states, and follows up with volunteer-driven campaigns, encouraging the enviros to vote!

@GreenFire @potus I learned about EVP at the recent Citizens’ Climate Lobby conference. I was impressed with the quality of their work. Even participated in a postcard writing conference session, writing to environmentally oriented potential voters.

You can write postcards from home to help in their efforts.
