In the @emf opening ceremony I spoke about how a total lack of government support for the arts has made running UK festivals extremely risky.

When I said that three weeks ago, 42 festivals had cancelled or gone bankrupt THIS YEAR.

It is now over 50.

Amidst the insurmountable rise in the price of production, and the ongoing cost of living crisis, how are organisers feeling about the crisis in UK festivals? And what solutions are there?

@jonty @emf 5 years ago people were complaining there were too many. I have very little to say about that but it was certainly diluting the supply of infrastructure leading to a not great experience for everyone involved.
@jonty @emf I'm not convinced that we can blame the loss of other venues completely on the Tories but I'd be quite happy to just for the sake of statistics.
