My start to para-sailing & getting re-certified for White Sails is delayed because of my dental extractions & not knowing how healing will go. I can't really start my lessons/training until I learn to talk with my immediate dentures, after final extractions. Hoping to schedule for mid-July but shall see how post-extraction healing & learning to eat/talk with dentures go.

I'm really excited though. Been wanting to get back into para-sailing since before covid. Our old program shutdown & Disabled Sailing Victoria disbanded, shortly after we lost our old homebase at CFB Naden because navy was expanding & kicked us out 😔

#AbleSail Victoria started up & offers recreational fun #sailing experiences for #DisabledFolks who just want to enjoy being out on the water, with an experienced sailor. It also offers lessons/training for us disabled folks who want to get certified & be able to race in future regattas.

I've been participating in several different #ParaSports for a few decades. I competed in para-equestrian up to national levels for a few years & also did competitions with non-disabled equestrians. I played sledge hockey for just under 3 yrs & used to help injured NHL hockey players keep up their conditioning, while they also learned how tough sledge hockey is. I've done adaptive biathlons as well.

I refuse to let my #disabilities stop me from living a full, active & joyful life. I will adapt & keep rocking life & looking for more adaptive sports opportunities, for as long as possible!
