Schuilkerk De Hoop AKA “The Clandestine Church of Hope” in Amsterdam was built in 1786. Its unique non-ostentatious aesthetic is that due to anti-catholic sentiments church could not be recognisable as a traditional catholic religious institution. By the 20th century the church had fallen into disuse and became a local music school and community arts space- which it has since remained.
