Which May was the hottest month on record? The last one.
And April? Again, the last one.
And March? Still the last one.

And the list continues until June 2023, cumulating in a 12-month streak.

This is why EU countries are committed to becoming climate neutral by 2050, aiming to emit no more greenhouse gases than they remove from the atmosphere.

We are leading the way in climate action.

@EUCommission

Its not like there is a magic switch or a money printer in the basement.

You need to reengineer every industrie to its core and yes that takes time.

And neutrality doesnt mean there is no impact until then. Please have some comon sence or do it yourself, we are all part of the Problem and the solution

@JamesTown_ @EUCommission

Yes there is- . Biden ADDED a trillion dollars tax to JUST the Un-Taxed big corporations who were un-taxed since boomers discovered cartoons.

Apple Corp. pretends to be a wee little Irish company who pays no tax. Apple is worth almost four trillion dollars in avoided taxes.

Theres unlimited capacity to build it all, and its FAR CHEAPER to do it now, than tomorrow morning, or next week.

This is the size of the ASH fields, that WERE Canadian forests in January 2023.

@JamesTown_ @EUCommission

On re-election Biden Plans to Tax Billionaire wealth over 20 billion at 25%

@JamesTown_ @EUCommission

Canada has 10 billion tons of oil under sand rock and ocean

If burned, it would produce 47 Billion Tons of CO2

"capturing" CO2 costs (they hope to get it down to) "several hundred dollars a ton."

Capturing Canada's planned new burning would cost "several hundred dollars a ton" times 47 billion tons.

Say $500 a ton
500 x 47,000,000,000 is 23 trillion dollars, just to remove Canada's oil.

Not the co2 here now
not any New Power

Carbon is EXPENSIVE
& STUPID

@kevinrns @JamesTown_ @EUCommission

Canada's LARGEST carbon capture and storage plant was canceled because someone decided they couldn't make it profitable.

It would have needed to operate for 12,000 years just to remove the equivalent of 1 year's worth of global CO2 emissions.

CCS is a scam and a joke.
It's time to get serious.

@ScribblersEmporium @JamesTown_ @EUCommission

Carbon must be be removed, I prefer bio-sinks, maybe green some deserts, restore soil, trees, but its got to come out, but EXXON is __PLANNING__ to pump CO2 in, for its CO2 capture business, and "Eff" the rest of us.

I would arrest them for murder.

WE MUST end carbon, completely, now, by building all the new energy. Now.

@ScribblersEmporium @kevinrns @JamesTown_ @EUCommission

Carbon Capture was always a scam & most of these people know it... they're happy to take the payday doing greenwashing for fossil fuels for a few years +selling stock in their 'startup' while also wasting a ton of money that they got in tax payer subsidies

@kevinrns @JamesTown_ @EUCommission
Assuming the 10 billion tons of crude oil contain 87 percent carbon, my calculation looks like this:
10×0,87+2×16×10×0,87÷12,001 = 31,898

31,898 is 67,87 percent of 47 or roughly two third.

I'm not a chemist, what's wrong with my math?

@jeantelmont @JamesTown_ @EUCommission

The cost of capturing carbon IS NOT YET DOWN to several hundred dollars a ton. If you can find a dollar figure, that includes capture, AND storage for-ever. I'd be grateful. Using 500 dollars a ton is unreasonably low, used because it doesn't matter.

Using the low cost to show its trillions in extra cost, to add more CO2.

Oil at the pump cost + CO2 #climate destruction trillions + carbon capture trillions means Building New Energy is freaking CHEAP

@jeantelmont @JamesTown_ @EUCommission

Not examining your lower figure, not arguing, accepting for argument, is ONLY 16 trillion dollars - should storage for the 32 billion tons of captured CO2 be free.

16 trillion dollars would buy a LOT of solar and wind, create no capture cost, less climate collapse and mass death, should we want to prioritize life.

Economist calculated British Columbia's climate costs for ONE year was 11 billion, before the forest burned, without the 600 dead.
