First, they picked up some rumors in the local inn and had a run-in with some overly boastful rival feather hunters who were telling VERY tall tales about past exploits. Annoyed, my daughters' characters bought another round of ale for that party to be served by the bartender as soon as they were done with the current round.

The hope was to get a head start on an even more inebriated, and hopefully unprepared, set of rivals.

Then they came across a curious forest debris elemental that they befriended after my daughter cast comprehend and commuted with it. It's name is Pebble and is like a giant teddy bear made of forest detritus. It can be scary if it gets mad, but it behaves mostly like a great dane.

Then they stumbled upon some wary goblins who were throwing a Fire Festival. Though initially wary, the goblins warmed up to the player characters and invited them to join in.

It turned out that the goblins love magic and their most recent find taught them everything they could ever want to know about fire. "Fire is life, but not too much!"

Lots of death defying fire antics ensued.

More stuff happened and it was all great fun. My oldest daughter commited to using a high pitched scratchy voice which left my youngest daughter and I in stitches whenever she spoke.

They both commit one hundred percent to role playing and the story just goes and goes. It's always a complete joy to play games with them.
