@frag-net at the end with the discussion of FPGA implementations of hardware, while extremely exciting as an area of active research, I believe advancement in FPGAs has historically been fairly sluggish compared to the development of CPUs, chips certainly exist that could probably be woven into an entire 2000s era pentium or greater, but it’s my understanding they currently cost thousands of dollars each
