🌹 More self-ship art of me and Ford! One thing we have in common is that we're both aliens who are stuck living on Earth!

He originally comes from a planet orbiting Betelgeuse and came to Earth to write for an interstellar travel guide only to find himself stranded on the planet. I am a starsinger, which is a type of alien from my system's "lore" (so to speak) that starts as an incorporeal consciousness that originates in space, is drawn towards planets with music, and takes a form based on a song it eventually hears! (Mine was "Never Let Me Down Again" by Depeche Mode.)

Due to the differences between our species' expectations for life, we have different feelings about living on Earth, where he is much more distraught about it than I am but also has some hope of someday leaving, whereas I accept the state of things and don't expect to ever step foot on a different planet. However, we both feel a great disconnect from Earth and wish we could live in space instead.

When we first meet each other, we assume the other is human (albeit both of us having a very strong interest in space), but we eventually tell each other about our extraterrestrial origins and bond over that. If we have to be stuck on this planet, we can be stuck there together, and if we ever get a chance to travel outside this solar system, we can travel together too.
