@kepano@tenth it’s permanently deleted stuff from my devices a few times, I’m pretty sure. Like gifs will just go missing or I’ll have day logs and one day will just vanish after I don’t check for a while
@kepano@tenth It’s a necessary default, because most people don’t understand the concept of file storage or have any idea where they are stored if they do. Their device eventually fills up and then they’re wondering why they’re ”out of memory”. These people include both my mom and teenage kid, which worries me.
@harri@kepano@tenth It's almost as if fostering an environment that intentionally tries to keep its users in the dark and reliant on their services would cause then to become ignorant of managing their own devices. This is what Apple wants.
