Schien eine Einigung des Europäischen Rates bei der Chatkontrolle zuletzt noch in weiter Ferne, zeichnet sich nun ab, dass Frankreich, einst klar gegen Chatkontrolle, zunehmend zum Wackelkandidat wird. Der vorliegende belgische Kompromissvorschlag bedeutet weiterhin die Einführung einer neuen anlasslosen Massenüberwachung.

So what exactly is going on now? I haven't followed the recent updates that well, so the timeline of events isn't clear for me. Is there some English coverage / would you mind giving an urgent 'what is happing with #ChatControl' summary for the Fediverse? :P

France is our biggest concern atm. Was part of blocking minority, seems they are swayed by the "upload moderation" bs (force people to 'consent') to CSS or not be able to use core features of messengers etc.
Tomorrow ministers discuss progress report, then presidency wants to present new text and seems to believe they can pass it next week on June 19th.
Time to take action is NOW. Raise alarms, spread word, tell gov to say no tomorrow and vote no next week.
