As part of an MSc in Psychology at Wrexham University, I’m investigating the wellbeing of women with ASCs. I’m looking for women who think they have an ASC (whether they have a formal diagnosis or not) to take part in a short questionnaire.

The wellbeing of women with ASCs

@ElunedParrott that was mercifully short :)
@venite yup. Short and to the point!
@ElunedParrott What's ASC?
@Lizzz autistic spectrum conditions.
@ElunedParrott Oh, so nothing to do with ADHD. I'm dx'd ADHD 20+ years and have never heard the term used in the US.
@Lizzz it’s an umbrella term sometimes used in the UK for neurodiverse conditions that includes autism and adhd.
@ElunedParrott Please consider avoiding using the word "neurodiverse" in scientific research. It's meaningless in a clinical context when used with ADHD. In fact it's weird to study ADHD and Autism together, because they are pretty much polar opposites in terms of symptoms, medical interventions, and support needs. In fact, they used to be mutually exclusive diagnoses in the DSM until Autism diagnoses started to come with money for services. In the US, at least.
@ElunedParrott The cash that comes with Autism is why most kids with ADHD don't get an Autism dx until the end of kindergarten or later. The parents all chat each other up and learn what to ask for when they visit the psychiatrist. I watched it happen. It's just about the money and working the system. A dx in the other direction, is about respite care hours increasing, not about getting the ADHD meds, because most Autistic kids don't do well with stimulants.
