I understand the backlash that Adobe is facing due to their licensing / privacy situation. But the thing is Discord also has similar language in their policy and they have also been moving to offer more AI services. I know a lot of people use Discord for art sharing and I can see it potentially become an issue for artists on the platform.
Perhaps it’s the language used vs Adobe but it still seems problematic to me.
@dosmaen88 This is pretty standard for an online service. They require a license to the content in order to store and display it in-app to other users. Modifying reformatting etc.. is around changing image formats, resizing and other things useful to handle the images in the service.
@dosmaen88 Now that's not to say these terms couldn't be abused, but the important difference is that Adobe isn't a platform where you're explicitly asking them to hold and share your content with others. They have no need for such a license.
@dosmaen88 Realistically you should find similar terms on retro pizza's t&cs if they're written correctly.
@dosmaen88 Discord acts innocent, but they're already feeding everything to, at the very least, Facebook. Not just your own chat, but your friends' chat associated with you. There's no faster way to get a brand up in your feed for a week than to have someone mention it to you on Discord.
