@tinker
This is awesome. Do you get freezing weather?
@FritzAdalis - We do! - (that's why I grow indoors year round... also because I dont have a yard or access to a community garden)
@tinker nice such an inspiration! I see we now are doing seed Librairy, in the town next to ours. :)
@tinker this is so beautiful
where is it? : )

@marimeireles - Fredericksburg, VA. We only have one. Richmond has like 14!!! I'm looking to see if we can expand!

All you need is a donated fridge (lots of craiglist or facebook marketplace). Donated pantries (same). And a donated place that will let you put it outside and use their electricity (both can be tax writeoffs for the host location). Libraries and places of worship are solid places to start.

@tinker I'm wondering how the fridge gets cleaned is there a rota or do people just keep it pretty tidy?

@quinsibell - There's a handful of us that keep it clean. Behind the pantry is a stock of cleaning supplies. Takes about ten mins to clean, arrange food, and go through the make sure only approved items are there. I then log that I cleaned it on a shared calendar. I try to hit up once a week, orhers hit it up throughout the week as well. It stays cleaned and tidy.

@tinker oh, is this next to a community garden over in downtown (old town? I forget what is called) fxbg? I think we saw it a little while ago.
@b4ux1t3 - It sure is!
@tinker we really need to bring some of our extras up. We're down a little ways, but spend most of our Sundays in downtown; would be nice to give back to our adopted city.

@b4ux1t3 - I make a run once a week. I'll take extra food that I have or any produce my garden has... produced...

Its real easy. Just park, hop out, put it in the fridge or pantry, and you're done! You'll spend more time walking the 20 ft from your car to the fridge than you will opening the fridge door and putting the food in, lol! Heheheh!

If you see anything you anything you want or need, grab it!
