First time taking a Vision Pro through security. I was curious if they’d require it to be taken out like a laptop. Thankfully it didn’t seems like a problem, I left it in my bag and they didn’t say a thing. (At LHR security)

With Pre Check (where you don’t take anything out anyway) it would seem a concern but I wasn’t sure about places which do still need laptops separately.

@_Davidsmith hypothetically just have the battery disconnected and have that in the tray? Isn’t that what they care about with computers?
@tchaten @_Davidsmith When I took mine through a couple months ago I took it out of my bag, they asked what it was, I said it was a VR headset, and they said that should just stay in my bag, not the tray. Didn’t really care about the battery specifically 🤷‍♂️
@_Davidsmith I’ve taken it on several trips now with no problem. TSA pre, however.

@_Davidsmith I’ve had it on a bunch of flights now in the waterfield case inside another backpack and never been asked about it.

One time my bag got pulled with it inside and they were more concerned that I had my MBA, iPad mini, and remarkable tablet stacked together. They rescanned those and ignored the Vision Pro. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@_Davidsmith I flew through IAD in January and they weren’t requiring folks to take their laptops out 😲

Not the case at the other US airports I’ve been to since so it’s not TSA-wide. I wonder if maybe IAD has some new tech that they feel eliminates the need or what…

@_Davidsmith Hilariously a couple of months ago I saw someone taking a trashcan Mac Pro through LHR. I was at the re-pack table looked to my left and was very confused. I did feel like asking whether they had heard of the M-series MacBooks 😀
@_Davidsmith If Heathrow didn’t care then nowhere will!
