Sylvester (September 6, 1947 - December 16, 1988) AKA “The Queen of Disco” was primarily known as a popular and openly Gay and gender- fluid Disco artist in the late 1970s and 1980s. “Rock the Box” was on one of his final albums. Like far too many, He passed away to complication due to AIDS in 1988. Their estate dictates that all royalties from their work be donated to AIDS/HIV charities. He was posthumously inducted into he Dance Music Hall of Fame in 2015.
