josefwhy on earth havent i been pronouncing windows subsystem for linux (wsl) as "weasel". surely i would have thought of it by now
on wsl, you must elide the end of the script and create the directories using minkdir. stoat them to make sure they've been created, then poll 'cat' a few times to check on their contents
