Idea that I'll probably never make but is fun to think about anyway:

A World Builder, free & open source, wysiwyg editors, app is offline, outputs a static site anyone can host. But it's possible to hook up to something like Cloudflare. Really I want it to be accessible to anyone and require the least amount of technical knowledge possible to use it.

@hedgepig What's a "world builder"? Maps, or character relationships?

@satchel yes.

Places, maps, characters, events, etc etc

@hedgepig Sounds fun! How much would you lean into pre-generating, eg from tables?
@satchel honestly I haven't thought that far. But that sounds like a good addition if someone wants inspiration
@hedgepig I'm old-school and like to do my campaign setting on paper, but I've had some success with generic wiki-like software (eg Tomboy, Roam, and Obsidian).

@satchel there's something irreplaceable about pen and paper.

I mean, as a baseline it needs features that make it worth-while over pen and paper

- easy searchability
- easy linking
- good accessibility
- images
- audit history?

Must be more I can't think of right now

@hedgepig You most probably know this and it doesn't tick the boxes, *but* you can download your projects in html, I believe, over at #LegendKeeper. It's a paid service, but the dev promises you'll always retain control of your content.
Always want to mention it when someone brings up WorldAnvil, because LK is so much more free in many ways.
