I'll switch away from Fedora (at least on this system) and try out more things. I plan to see PopOS, Solus and some non-GNOME desktops. It's been a while since I tried something else.

Usually I'm disappointed and go back to GNOME, as the sheer number of resources poured over to that desktop results in better outcome, but perhaps another project managed to steal the crown now?

Sadly Linux still lacks a really great desktop. We're closer than ever, but not there yet.

@zygoon I’ve always found KDE Plasma generally less visually appealing, but increasingly a rock solid and better engineered DE fwiw. Plasma 6 is a solid release, too.

That said I’m currently running Hyprland from ‘main’ like an animal 😁

@jnsgruk Wow, it does look nice. Thank you for sharing that.
@jnsgruk I tried it and let me just ask: is this a thing that only has the terminal and everything else I run from the terminal?
@zygoon it’s definitely something you have to invest time in. A bit like configuring i3 or sway. Worth the investment, though. I came to Hyprland after about 2 years on sway so a pretty easy transition :)

@jnsgruk

/me cries in MacOS and Windows ;-)

I'll read the website (it's shockingly nice!) and see what's there. No promises, let's see what I'll bring to the next sprint in six months :)
