lol this might take a while…

Started at 5/31 11am ET. We’ll see how fast this baby moves on a 12yo #MacMini using #ProtonVPN & gigabit #fios through a #glinet #AXT1800 router, a CAT6-connected AP, a #MoCA -connected AP, & finally CAT6. It’s a circuitous route, I know, but these are the limitations of a 74yo house.

FWIW speeds right now are slower than usual: 174 Mbps down, 178 up. Usually in the 500-600 range. Maybe it’s the age of the #Mac, or I’m splitting between the #Ente & speed test?

30 min in and we’re 5% done. Not sure if/how #Ente prioritizes the upload queue but extrapolating out, this suggests we’ll be done in 10 hours, or ~8pm ET. Honestly that’s not terrible considering that’s a few decades worth of pictures and videos.

Just checked in at 30.5 hours and we’re done! I’m fully uploaded to @ente! Now I gotta learn the ropes, figure out what to do with all (100GB) my old mp3s (maybe store them temporarily on #ProtonDrive, or just an external HD), make sure I’m not missing anything, and then convert this ancient 2012 #MacMini to a #Linux machine!
