BREAKING: Jury convicts Donald Trump guilty on all 34 counts.

Poetic justice that in the state Trump took out a full page ad to falsely accuse 5 Black & brown youth of a crime & called for their death—he’s convicted of 34 counts by a jury of his peers.

Let's be clear.

Trump was NOT convicted by Biden, Clinton, Soros, Big Bird, Target, Wokeness, Disney, pride flag, CRT, or DEI. Trump was convicted by his fellow U.S. citizens under due process—as US Constitution requires

Let justice reign.

By convicting Trump for his clear crimes, the USA joins other developed democracies in ensuring its heads of state are not above the law.

Since 2000 at least 76 nations have jailed/prosecuted leaders after they left office—including allies like France, Israel, Taiwan, & S Korea.

Also, SCOTUS can’t grant Trump immunity from this conviction, nor can a future President, because Trump has been convicted in state court, and if there’s one thing Republicans love, it’s state’s rights.

@QasimRashid And another bad day for the "where are the consequences" people.

@QasimRashid

We have only sort-of ensured that heads of state are not above the law.

The justice department still holds the opinion that *sitting* presidents are above the law, and the appeals process is allowed to be dragged out so long that we can elect the convicted felon before everything is finalized.

It's far from ideal, frankly.

@QasimRashid Pretty sure SCOTUS could because they're stacked with partisan hacks supplying ridiculous nonsense instead of reasoning with their decisions.
@greg @QasimRashid Notice though that they declined to hear all his 2020 court appeals. Maybe they'll just go 'we got what we want, let him stew'
@ariaflame @QasimRashid Yeah point. I'd rather not leave it to chance if possible though? Praying might not cut it at this point.

@greg @QasimRashid
My understanding is that SCOTUS can indeed rule on this if Chump loses the appeal at the various New York appeals courts.

The actual crime, while it happened during Chump's presidency, does not fall under his official duties so the SCOTUS immunity appeal will be interesting if they try to grant his total immunity appeal.

@QasimRashid SCOTUS is apparently not subject to laws. I 💯 believe they will overturn the conviction.

@QasimRashid About time something caught up with that opportunistic buffoon.

Have you seen that his Wikipedia page has already been updated? 🤣

@QasimRashid

I would like to know more about this accusing ad story.

@MichelPatrice @QasimRashid

Look for the story of the "Exonerated Five", formerly known as the "Central Park Five".

@deeseearr @QasimRashid

Wow.

Cruelty is a trait of sociopath, I think.

@deeseearr @MichelPatrice @QasimRashid Netflix have a mini series called “When They See Us” about it if you prefer watching. Their story is quite harrowing.
@QasimRashid Seriously? Will Trump actually go to prison as a result of this? After all this time, I’m still not exactly convinced that he will get any actual punishment.

The penalty per felony is as little as 0 days in jail and as much as 4 years, plus up to a $5,000 fine.

I imagine that he will have to pay $170,000 fine, possibly serve 6 months of home arrest or something.

@Bizarroland @QasimRashid So, basically nothing.
The debate could be great though. Biden could just say "all the candidates who have been convicted of fewer than 34 felonies please raise your hands"
@QasimRashid Here's to hoping he actually goes to jail and doesn't win re-election
@QasimRashid one could almost read that to the tune of “The future will not be televised.”
@QasimRashid Every time I hear him open his fat, stupid mouth, I think about the Central Park Five and what he did to them. As far as I know he has never shown any remorse or forgiveness towards those five men. How one can complain about something being a sham trial, and yet not show an ounce of dignity for those that truly were railroaded, is just beyond me. He truly is the most narcissistic and dangerous person in this country today.

@QasimRashid - ❤️ 👍

His own sociopathic and narcissistic incompetence got him convicted. I've had the displeasure of being aware of his existence since the early 1980s, and he constantly and consistently acted in ways that would get anyone else - well, at least, anyone without a rich daddy - barred from certain types of business and/or plopped into the pokey. The fact that he's gotten away with his abuses for so long is, IMO, a stong indictment of how *UN*-constitutional our system became.

@QasimRashid
"No, sir! They're saying Boo-urns, Boo-urns!"

Watch the Republicans savagely turn on each other now that their golden idol is a convicted felon.

Well, they were already savagely turning on each other.

Will the arse-smooching Trump loyalists finally snap out of it, or will they continue to be conned by the conman convict?

@glutto @QasimRashid unfortunately they like being played, and like to perceive themselves as victims, and this just strengthens that.
@QasimRashid - I do like to think, though, that the far right's absurd vendetta against Big Bird played a part in the downfall of Angry Bulbous Man 😉
@QasimRashid Yes, let justice reign. And Stormy.
