@bmaz Are you happy now?

I have a new addition.

@Pachacutec Oh, yes! Outstanding. Mine has the black body, but otherwise identical. Getting ready to take it in for a restringing and neck tuning because it is long past time. Good job!
@bmaz So many people bought guitars during the pandemic who are now selling them. There are deals to be made on barely played used guitars on Reverb right now. It’s a buyer’s market.
@Pachacutec The sunburst is gorgeous. What kind of amp you plug it into/
@bmaz impulse buy, on a deal. No amp yet. Just using it at the start in a DAW for recording with direct input. I have an audio sample already but I can’t seem to add it
@Pachacutec Cool. I got my amp unexpectedly at the same time as my Strat. The guy had a basically brand new Crate twin twelve tube amp - not even sure how many watts it is, but it will go a lot louder than you need. It is also heavy as hell. I suggest something smaller, like a single ten or twelve Fender Reverb or something. You need some volume on the knob to get fuzz, but you don't want it to be too loud.
@bmaz a sample in just one of my virtual amp racks https://www.dropbox.com/t/5usrkCEjVVSMLtOc
@Pachacutec Good friend has a Deluxe Reverb. Single 12 Celestion speaker. He loves it, but that is likely more than you need.

@bmaz Getting a Boss Katana MKII. Got one on Memorial Day sale and it's being delivered. They're now releasing Gen3 so this 4 year old model is pretty affordable and well proven, beloved even.

@Pachacutec 100 watts?? That may be more than you need. Never seen one, but sounds great on that video.I still wanna Marshall half stack. But I like my wife and she would kill me.

@bmaz LOL I got the 50-watt version.

I live in a townhouse, breh.

@Pachacutec Excellant! Have fun!
@Pachacutec And, if you don't like the sound you are getting, versus that you want, don't hesitate to get a foot pedal. They are cheap and very effective.

@bmaz I'll mostly be using it for recording probably. I don't have a lot of opportunities to play for people.

With virtual pedals and amps available to create almost any sound or cabinet, I may not need any pedals. Just record live and dry into an audio file and add the virtual effects onto the track in a mix.

Guitar Rig 7 Pro – virtual amps, pedals, and effects

Unlock endless creative possibilities for jamming, producing, and getting lost in experimentation with new amps and pedals, plus studio effects.

@Pachacutec I like physical things more than virtual. 1/4 in. cords, amps and pedals. Which does not explain how I still am as horrible of a player as I am.
@bmaz well you live in Arizona. You have room to store all that shit!
@Pachacutec This is true. Which explains why I still have it all, because I sure don't play any of it very much anymore.
@bmaz new amp just arrived but I'm busy working

@bmaz first test song for the amp: Black Hole Sun
🤌🏼

Although Chris Cornell sings it in Ab, which is not even close to what I can reach.

@Pachacutec I think Ronnie is playing your guitar on Cococabana Beach for over a million peoples. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2rvH0yAgY8

@bmaz nah that’s not a Fender strat, looks like a Gibson maybe.
@Pachacutec That is Keep, not Ronnie.
@bmaz Oh yeah, at 2:18 that's a sunburst strat. Not the same exact model because mine came out 4 years ago, but not much different, even if it's customized. #guitar
