Once again I'm playing Tansy the halfling druid - this time on Tormax. There's something so nostalgic about running around Rivervale and Misty Thicket, running errands and bashing snakes and rats.
My EQ nostalgia is all low-level nostalgia. I literally don't think I ever got a character above level 20 or so. I never really mastered group play as I had few/no playing partners; I was just so fascinated by making new characters and exploring all the newbie zones.
I think I've decided I'm going to make #Tormax my Forever Home on #EQ and actually try to maybe keep up a little bit. I won't be playing very often, because my #WoWClassic RP guild keeps me pretty busy, but I want to at least give it a go and see how far Tansy can progress.
If you know anyone on Tormax who has a kindhearted, grownup guild that is friendly to SUPER casual and newbie players and willing to group even with people who don't know what they're doing, let me know!
I finally found the button to unselect "Randomize loading screen music," and FINALLY I hear that original loading music I was craving.
Hearing the original EQ song catapults me back in time to many many years ago, when I was in a very uncertain place in my life and I would stare at that loading image and hear the music and know that for a little while, I was about to escape somewhere dreamlike and magical.
I went ahead and started an #Everquest
guild called <Spirit of Rivervale> on #Tormax for any fellow casuals who are into that whole "kind, friendly, wholesomely mischievous and slightly lazy" halfling vibe.
There will be zero participation requirements to be in the guild. I'll just be happy to see ya if you're on. :)
