Someone needs to make a version of doom that works like those 1960s flight simulators that NASA used, where it's a physical model and the controls are just driving a video camera around it
Someone needs to 3D print a copy of E1M1
@foone That would be very cool.

E1M1: Hangar is the first map of Knee-Deep in the Dead in Doom. It was designed by John Romero and uses the music track “At Doom’s Gate”. - Doom E1M1: Hangar - Map - Download Free 3D model by pancakesbassoondonut (@vrchris)

@foone this is how you open an actual portal to Hell
@foone monster sprites are transparent OLED panels on wheels that orient to face camera
@foone ok OLED wouldn’t be period correct, but we could do physical pixels that flip sides (or leave edge-on) in a grid. Move them with magnets under the floor driven like a plotter. Rotate to face camera using synchros (400 V 400 Hz AC)
@foone not doom, but isn't there this augmented mario cart with models to drive around your home?
