Every day the Supreme Court fails to make a decision in Trump’s immunity case is effectively a decision in his favor.

They're acting like an arm of Trump's campaign by letting him run out the clock on his prosecution.

@rbreich
It's a precarious gamble. If Trump losses, which odds on he will, he is severely sunk. And likely the walls will come tumbling down around a couple Justices as well.

If/when a former president is convicted of a felony, convicting Justices won't seem a big deal.

@rbreich Yet Biden team seems unwilling, uninterested in playing hardball - balancing, expanding Supreme Court. At least FDR TRIED.

If I understand correctly, expanding the Supreme Court would have to be approved by the House and the Senate. It would require 60 votes in the Senate to pass, and Dems dont have 60. GOP Senate are corrupt cowards & certainly arent going to help.

If we ever get 60 Senate seats and majority in the House, we should push hard for it. IMO, now that the SC has clearly been politicized, the Supreme Court should be balanced at all times.

@rbreich I wonder what the implications are when he gets convicted in the hush money case also known as the election interfere case.

@rbreich it’s not, though.

That’s not how the Supreme Court or the US justice system works.

If you wanted a knee jerk resolution, don’t go to the courts. They’re specifically designed not to do that.

It’s like reaching for a hammer and then complaining that it’s on the side of the screw that it’s not effective in removing: I’m sorry you reached for the wrong implement, but it’s doing what it’s supposed to do, not because it’s on the side of the fastener but because it’s doing what it’s supposed to be doing.
