Prepping for a talk is like:

- "Oh god, I need slides." 😱
- "Oh no, none of this flows."
- "Oh gawd. This beginning is terrible, they're going to be so confused! Why did I include this?!"😭
- "Oh. I bring it together at the end... That's right."
- "Wait, that was actually kind of good. Can I do that again?"
- "What if I just add a few transition sentences here or there, so they know what they're in for?"🤔
- "OMG! That was actually good! I did it again! Okay! Now to get some reviews!" 😁

@ChaelCodes what stage are you at now?

@kevin_j_m tiny tweaks, lining up reviews, delivery speed is way too fast, 2 working days before I deliver it.

Each rehearsal starts with "How the hell am I going to do this?" and ends with "Oh! That was pretty good! Good job me!"

@ChaelCodes try starting by reminding yourself how you felt at the end of the last rehearsal - let me know if I can help!

@ChaelCodes @kevin_j_m if it's helpful, you can also divide your talk into sections and practice those individually, then start with the section you're least confident about and so on.

Landon Gray told me this and blew my mind 🤯

@kaspth @ChaelCodes I have defined sections and when I rehearse with a timer I use the lap functionality on my stopwatch so I know how long the whole talk takes, and also each section.
