Does anyone else use the Dual Display (Arranger/Mixer) setting in #bitwig on a single monitor from time to time? I find it nice to have the mixer and device chain always visible (and context sensitive) while working on an arrangement, and to have the latter always visible as well. On a big enough screen at least, this can be a very comfortable approach for me. #mixing #daw #musicmaking #linuxaudio
@amadeus That is a fantastic idea. I'm going to try this approach.
@amadeus There is also a proposal to allow vertical split for ultra-wide displays: https://bitwish.top/t/option-to-move-editor-panel-to-the-right/5250
Option to move editor panel to the right

Ultrawide displays are becoming more common. With their resolution, it makes sense to have an option to split panels vertically. See the comparison: A vertical split would be much better: What problem(s) would this feature resolve? On ultra-wide displays, it isn’t possible to see much of the arrangement, tracks and notes. Users might not see much value in seeing so far into the past and future on the time axis. Instead, they might want to see how the elements are arranged harmonically ...

@icaria36 Good idea! Yeah, I think it would make sense to have more options to configure one's preferred arrangement of workspaces in general.
@amadeus I haven't so I'll try it out.
@plaimbock It's not without flaws (window focus, plugin windows obstructed by one of the Bitwig windows, etc.), but sometimes I really enjoy to work like that nonetheless.
@amadeus Yeah I noticed the obstructions. That doesn't work for me. Great that it sometimes does for you.
@plaimbock I think it would be cool if they added some more display options for larger displays. Also, I'd like to have a light theme as well. πŸ˜‡
@amadeus Yes that would be nice. Themes has been requested many times but to no avail. Same with an improved pianoroll (aka with the ABL "key lock" features) which is at the top of my list.
