Texty the Bard@traffopost @GottaLaff 30 seconds is WAY too long to pause for dramatic effect. That's a standard length for TV and radio commercials. If you were watching a show and they had a 30-second period of dead air during a commercial break, you'd (rightly) think something had gone very wrong with the broadcast.
Trump is incapable of coherent adlibbing. He just babbles bits of stock phrases when he gets lost. That he didn't even do that this time is alarming.
