I love that people were like ‘wahh, I never use all that power in my iPad Pro for anything!' so Apple designers + engineers went 'sick, that means we can render high-poly 3d tools with this new Apple Pencil Pro to cast dynamic shadows at 120fps’
@sdw This kind of thing is what made OS X and NeXT/OPENSTEP so great 20-30 years ago: attention to detail. Switching from Windows 2000, I found so many small corner cases where someone had made sure things worked as expected, even though 90+% of users would never hit that particular path in the UI,
That philosophy has been gradually eroded since 10.7, I hope this is a sign that it’s coming back.
It doesn’t make people switch, but it makes leaving the platform much harder because moving to something else is like being constantly buzzed by midges. They don’t actually hurt, but the annoyance is always there and cumulative.
