I spotted this car on the road, and my daughter asked why I thought it was cool. After I explained, she said, “Why would a company name a car 9/11?”
@siracusa Hah! I was actually thinking about this (sarcastically) the other day.
@siracusa Not sure if that's disappointing or amazing :)
@siracusa
How many years would you have to hold off buying a car to rationalize the purchase of a Porsche in the future?

@siracusa

Hopefully soon the next time you all encounter a situation like that she instead asks, "How is any car cool if it has exhaust pipes?"

@brianstorms @siracusa my wife's old boss drives an e911
And we are unsure if it's more, or less, ostentatious than a petrol version!
@siracusa Why would a country write and say 11th September as 9/11? *That* is the real question. 😉
@ZS Because that's how you write a date: 2024/9/11
@siracusa you could claim its november 9th because its always the year of inconsistent date formats
@siracusa did you immediately crumble to dust ?
@siracusa best “tell me you’re born in the 2000’s without telling me”…
@siracusa this is when I hope you've watched Office Space with your daughter so you can bring up the Michael Bolton bit. One of my friends was on an Ultimate Frisbee team they named "The No Talent Ass-Clowns" from that
@siracusa why would parents name a child Jason or Karen?
@siracusa 'Reminds me of that tragedy'
@siracusa you say porsche I say massachusetts weekend traffic
@siracusa the way of elbow positioning shows clearly that guy used to ride an opel manta before
@siracusa My friend owned a 911 in 1969, long before it had any other meaning. That’s when cars & cameras were the tech marvels to own, there was nothing else 🙂
@siracusa you habe to explain to your daughter that the world is bigger and older than the US of America.
@siracusa And by noticing this innocent connection your daughter has forever ruined this car for me
@siracusa did you tell her it was because it was originally named 901 but Peugeot trademarked all the 3 digits model number with a 0 in the middle for their own models (so the manual crank to start them could be fitted inside the central 0)

@siracusa spot on. I heard the latest @atpfm special and every time 911 was pronounced I could only “hear” September 11th.

Wonder if Porsche considered this post 9/11
