Lots of warm feedback for the last article: https://ia.net/topics/no-thanks

One or two were irritated that we are not defending Apple. I'm fully aware that being critical against Apple when so many of our customers love the fruit almost unconditionally is not a classic typical marketing move. (Don't upset your audience).

When weighing what is more important, a) selling apps or b) saying what needs to be said, I think b) is more... on brand for a text editor that is designed to write well.

No Thanks

Last week, Apple got into trouble because of an ad. It taught us a lesson beyond the good and evil of advertising and public relations.

If you think differently, you may become different. If you claim "Think Different," don’t be surprised if those who followed you eventually do disagree. You have to be able to disagree with your favorite tech company no matter what. But when it tells you to think different for 20 years and then the CEO emphatically invites you to be different, you cannot be criticized for thinking and being different, unless "Think Different" and "Be different" was just marketing.
