Hello, I need some advice. Has anyone been told they have increased white cells in their urine but no infection? I have to repeat the sample in two weeks. Quite worried as frequency is awful and unable to sleep through the night.

@Samantha72 That’s rotten. I am on meds to try to stop my bladder spasming at night, so I know how relentless being woken up can be.

I take D Mannose in the hope that I’ll have fewer infections. But since I can’t always tell when I have an infection it’s hard to know if it works for me.

I hope it resolves itself soon.

@OcreJulia thank you xx
I take D-mannose as well. I'm on a 3 monthly rotation of low dose antibiotics as well as I was constantly getting infections.
This time feels different and the GP said no bugs but I have too many white cells regardless. I just don't know what it means.

I really hope your meds work as bladder spasms sound horrendous xx

@Samantha72 I don’t have much sensation in that area, so I’m blissfully unaware, apart from being woken. How are you today?
@OcreJulia Oh no😔
I am tired again today from waking up. I am on my last day of strong antibiotics and my white cell count was still high last night. Normally, antibiotics work when I have a problem which has been far less since taking low dose all the time. I'm confused and concerned.
Have you seen any improvement or is it too early to tell?

@Samantha72 It is better than it was, but I’m still up typically twice a night. I’m giving a higher dose a go, but I suspect long term I’ll switch meds.

Hope the GP can find the reason for your high count quickly. Is this a new GP, did you move?

@OcreJulia this is a new GP as we did move. I haven't met him yet as I saw a nurse practitioner who got advice from someone more senior. I went online and read the results and GP notes after they rang me. I think because no bugs were found that's why he wants to wait two weeks. I will contact sooner if it gets worse as I'm worried about my kidneys.
@Samantha72 Sounds like a good plan. Fingers crossed it doesn’t get worse.
