They're trying to sneak the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) into must-pass legislation because they know it's a terrible bill that will censor the internet and silence LGBTQIA+ people. I know we're all tired, but *please* call your reps again and ask them to put a stop to this terrible bill!

Analysis | Congress’s push to protect kids online is at a crossroads

Lawmakers are trying to fast-track legislation but face a dwindling window.

@charliejane can we just ban kids from the internet? Like leave one thing for adults
@wraptile @charliejane As a kid who grew up on the Internet to escape the mass censorship of real life *because* of my age, that is fuсking horrifying.
@enoch_exe_inc @charliejane I was being sarcastic on how absurd this whole issue of policing the internet is something parents should be doing.

@wraptile @enoch_exe_inc @charliejane I think even that is too much. Until you’re eighteen, you exist a void of complete rightless-ness, and the Internet offers not only a means of escape, but also a way to learn about the world as it is rather than what people, who are not kids, *think* what kids ought to learn.

And, every day, I see more people trying to close off the Internet. Your sarcasm is too close to reality even if I could detect it.
