I've become a huge fan of #obsidian (well #obsidianmd 😉) in the past few months. Relying on an open format and getting so much power, wow!

That made me discover and start exploring #orgmode ... I've used #emacs in the past, and I thought that using it again on desktop and getting a good #iOS app would work out... But while I recognise its power, the onboarding and day to day usage seems much less user friendly...

I know, there's even more power behind the learning curve, but who (from the average people) can invest so much to fully benefit from it? 😥

Most happy to be proven wrong and to further discuss!

@gaufff I experienced such a situation multiple times:

Used atom → tried #vim but found it too hard to use → used atom, but missed vims features → finally learned vim when I had more time

Used #obsidianmd → tried #emacs, but found it too hard → used Obsidian, but missed {timestamps, agenda, babel, export, ...} → finally learned emacs

I would recommend waiting a few weeks/months/whatever and then giving emacs/orgmode an other try.

@bacaliu Calendar integration is a big feature I miss with #obsidianmd
