I've become a huge fan of #obsidian (well #obsidianmd 😉) in the past few months. Relying on an open format and getting so much power, wow!

That made me discover and start exploring #orgmode ... I've used #emacs in the past, and I thought that using it again on desktop and getting a good #iOS app would work out... But while I recognise its power, the onboarding and day to day usage seems much less user friendly...

I know, there's even more power behind the learning curve, but who (from the average people) can invest so much to fully benefit from it? 😥

Most happy to be proven wrong and to further discuss!

@gaufff learning Emacs is long-sighted objective.

The learning curve is steep in places, but break it down and learn one thing at a time as its impossible to learn everything in one go.

Whilst other solutions have come and gone Emacs has stood the test of time. There are staunch and stalwart developers and users who provide rich insight to learn from (e.g. https://systemcrafters.net/ but many, many more, follow #emacs posters) Its worth it in the long run.

I think the wise thing to do is to keep on progressing with #emacs , until I eventually feel ready for #orgmode ...
