What's the most interesting radio related thing you do that has been dissed as "not real ham radio" ?

@w8emv so far, I myself have never experienced this, but apparently "digital modes aren't real ham radio".

It doesn't make sense to me; it's much easier and requires less knowledge to key a microphone and talk than to configure WSJTX, so, on the face of it, you'd think digital modes would be "more ham radio" than phone.

(I don't actually think phone is lesser than digital modes, I'm just questioning the logic of those who claim the opposite)

Conditions on 30 meters still bad here this evening. #hamradio
@w8emv A few have told me satellite operating isn't "real ham radio", like working HF or 6m. Even when I have done demonstrations at hamfests.
@w8emv using digital voice networks #dstar #fusion & #dmr because they use the internet. DV doesn't necessarily need the internet.
@w8emv I still remember, as a young ham in the 80s, picking up QST and reading a letter someone had written saying that packet "isn't ham radio".

@w8emv I posted a video of me doing a CW POTA activation to YouTube. Apparently you can do CW on CB now?
