@gamingonlinux I know Sony made a mistake but I feel like the outcome and customers' response to the forced login should have been obvious from the get-go.
Still, I am glad they turned it around. 🙂
@gamingonlinux good for the devs and the community. And yet, I hope this won't turn into a forgive and _completely_ forget situation because Sony will try again, and some changes made haven't been reverted yet.
This is not execs listening, this is shareholders questioning the future of their investment and the execs caving to the community demands because that's an easier way of ensuring the investors and shareholders don't raise an eyebrow at them.
They didn't get away with this today, good, but that doesn't mean they won't keep trying.
... until they do it again. They'll wait a year until it's too late for returns then just ban steam players, or introduce egregious rootkit-based "anti-cheat" or other measures. It's important to realize sony has a track record here. Them changing the rules *after they have your money* is their usual playbook, they've been doing it for decades.
