Also â I've lately thought a lot about the moment, in 1994, when I first saw someone send an email and receive a reply instantly. I was still living in the FidoNet bubble â pack your mail into big packets, send it (ZModem) once a day maybe, and pick up another bunch. Like real mail.
I did spend way too long reading & replying to messages (like now), but it really was limited to 1 or 2 hours a day. And then it was done. Inbox zero.
