Polk County officials yesterday issued a mandatory evacuation order for areas along the Trinity River near Lake Livingston Dam after nearly 11 inches of rainfall and strong winds pushed through the area late Sunday night.

NWS Monday evening confirmed an EF-1 tornado passed through the Rock Creek Subdivision in Trinity Sunday, destroying a home owned and occupied by Conroe Police Department Lieutenant James Waller and his wife, who both sustained injuries following the storms.
