The study, published in the journal Nature Cities, found that 42% of Houston's land area was sinking about one-fifth inch per year, with 12% sinking at more than double that rate.

NWS Monday evening confirmed an EF-1 tornado passed through the Rock Creek Subdivision in Trinity Sunday, destroying a home owned and occupied by Conroe Police Department Lieutenant James Waller and his wife, who both sustained injuries following the storms.
