I thought I had read this one before, it's been in my cupboard for years. Have some distinct memories of the TV Series (Jeremy Irons with a mustache in an army jeep, the great house in the fog, a teddy-bear in Morocco), but when I was 100 pages in, I realised I might have never actually read it before.

Great read. Beautiful use of language. May have to rewatch the series?

@PepijnVemer Haha - never read neither seen it.

I know óf it only bc my English teacher (in ancient times) used it as an example how you shouldn’t read your English exam literature in Dutch… people who did claimed to have read ‘Return to Brideshead’ (literal translation from the Dutch book title) instead of ‘Brideshead Revisited’

@photovince Welk Frans boek was dat ook al weer dat over een borstkanker patiënt ging, wat in het Frans "la fleur" werd genoemd, maar in het Nederlands gewoon als "kanker" was vertaald?
